RE: MinimWatch on Macbook Pro
I tried this file and I am getting a warning, not an error.

You would get an error if you were using an old version of MinimServer. If you select About from the minim icon, what is the version and update information?

I have feeling you might be right about this. However, please excuse my ignorance, but minimsever is on the Melco, not the computer, so there is no icon. I do have minim watch on he computer and that is version 0.8.4 update 42.

When I downloaded Minimserver onto a USB stick for the Melco it said i was an old version (0.8.1 from memory) but I am not sure how to find an updated version.

I just got a message on the screen which read "MinimServer 0.8.1 is no longer supported. For continued support and updates, please install MinimServer 0.8.3." I can't understand as I downloaded it from the internet and would assume it was an up to date version.

RE: MinimWatch on Macbook Pro
The current level of MinimServer is 0.8.4 and I will send you a PM with the instructions for installing it. I will investigate why 0.8.1 is telling you that the current level is 0.8.3.

To find the level of MinimServer that is installed, you need to select About from the MinimWatch minim icon. if you select Options > About (watch) from the minim icon, you will see the current level of MinimWatch.

Thank you. I REALLY appreciate this. I have a large music collection and I am excited about using MinimServer as it seems to offer and intelligent way of browsing.

Hi Simon
Things seem much better now. I see, to have installed the most up to date MinimServer on the Melco and the files are now showing in the library. I seem to be on update 42 rather than update 88 on MinimWatch??
I am still receiving a few error messages in the log (see attachment) but the files are playing...

Scrub that - it is showing update 88 under about but not from the 'about' tab under options.
Only final issue I seem to have now is it won't play my DSD files. I'm guessing DSD is an unsupported format. I can play them when using Twonky though.

These errors are about missing files in the playlist 'Deep Purple - STORMBRINGER.m3u'. When you view this playlist, you won't see the missing files. Everythng else should be visible

The 'About' menu entry shows the MinimServer update level. The 'Options > About (watch)' menu entry shows the MinimWatch update level.

MinimServer supports DSD for both .dsf and .dff files. If the files are not playing in your renderer, it might be a renderer issue or you might need to install MinimStreamer and transcode the files to DoP/WAV format. What renderer are you using?

EDIT: I see you have opened another thread for this DSD discussion. I will close this thread now and we can move the DSD discussion to the other thread.
