Not sure which Java update to install.

Hi.

Bought a new Synology NAS DS916+ and installed Java 8 from the package centre. It wanted to update Java and sent me to Java's download page and said to download the Linux 64 bit version. The pop up in DSM installer also says the file name should be in the format jdk-8U65-linux-(i586|x64).tar.gz.

On the Java website however it's the linux x86 files that have the (i586) in the file name.

Do I choose the linux version with x86 or the linux x64?

If you are running DSM 6.0, you need the Linux x64 version.

OK thanks Simon. That's it working. Now to suss out the transcoding stuff.
