I have successfully downloaded MinimServer and was just about to download MinimWatch to my PC using the download for Windows ie MinimWatch-0.8.4-install.exe.

However, just as I am about to save it, I get a warning message from Mcafee saying that "this download is dangerous ". I didn't get that message with MinimServer. I am assuming Mcafee is just being over-zealous, for some reason? Take it I am safe to proceed?

This warning is based on the number of times McAfee has seen the download before (from any user). The 0.8.4 downloads for MinimServer and MinimWatch are new and presumably have not been downloaded many times yet. Perhaps your MinimServer download wasn't for Windows and therefore didn't have a .exe extension. If your MinimServer download was for Windows, it could be that McAfee has seen fewer downloads of MinimWatch 0.8.4 than MinimServer 0.8.4. There is nothing dangerous about the MinimWatch install package.

Have now tried unsuccessfully to download MinimWatch on several occasions. Mcafee seems to be blocking the download. I am not getting an error message other than download failed. It seems to be linked to the Mcafee message "this download is dangerous". I can't seem to stop that message. Is there something I can turn off in Mcafee to allow the download? I briefly tried turning off the firewall but it neither stopped the message nor allowed the download.

Mcafee is definitely blocking the download. I looked at the Security History Report this morning. Mcafee confirms that "Suspicious incoming internet connection blocked. Source IP address [. ]". Various different IP addresses are given during the time that I was unsuccessfully attempting to download MinimWatch. How to I get Mcafee to allow the download?

Simon,with the help of McAfee, I have now got this installed. Definitely was being blocked by McAfee. Also, needed to change browser from IE to Firefox. Looks like I am sorted. Appreciate your help.

I am a newbie to all of this, so I am on a bit of a steep learning curve.

Hugely appreciate everything to date. Can't promise I won't be back with further questions.

I cannot see MinimServer icon in tray, however,it is working and shows on iPad.

Have reinstalled Minimwhatch several times without success, at startup instead of icon the MinimWhatch folder appears.

Using latest version 8.4

You don't have the correct program association for the .jar file extension. To fix this, download and run the jarfix program.

Hi Simon,

Still no joy, at startup and if I click MinimWhatch icon only get folder.

Have tried Qnap 219p same result.
