Folder View
I'm just starting to experiment with MinimServer on Linux. I have it working OK, but as I only need the folder view I'd like to be able just to display the folder view at startup (or, ideally, just go straight to the top level folder). I have no need for Conductor, Date, or any of the other menu entries. Can these be removed? I don't use tags of any kind.

Thanks,
- Richard.

You can remove all the tag index entries by setting indexTags to 'none'.

RE: Folder View
Thanks. That helps. However, I still have albums, items and playlists. In an ideal world I'd like to be able to go straight to the top level of my folder structure.

Hi Richard,

this is exactly what I need as well.
If you ever find a solution please share it with me.

I am guessing the odds are low but you don't happen to be the same Richard Kimber that likes to drive fast cars, fast, in Australia? Apologies if not.

Re your query - slightly surprised that you don't use tags at all. Can be very handy and Minimserver makes them even more powerful. Interesting.

RE: Folder View
I tried several other UPNP server, none of them did what I wanted until I stumbled upon subsonic which works perfectly, including library search!!

Interesting indeed.
Seldom use folder view myself, would be nice that albums and items could be removed though.
If items and albums could be treated like other index tags the user would have the possibility to remove or translate/rename.

RE: Folder View
Hy Simon!
First of all many thanks for this great work, i really enjoy using minim on my Synology DS via Linn kazoo and Lumin.
I use this thread as my question is about the folder view.

Is there a way to change this "[folder view]" into something like "Folders", so that it does look like one of the other indexing names like "Album" and "Artist"?
Or maybe to add "Folders" to the indexing functions?

Its just a cosmetic thing, but everything else works almost perfect for me :-)

kind regards
Dave

It isn't possible at present to change this. The [folder view] menu selection is different from the tag selections listed in indexTags because the indexTags selections show menus that can contain further indexTags selections and the [folder view] choice shows a menu containing only folders and items.
