RE: GETTING STARTED
Thanks I got it to copy but when I use command V to paste it doesn't work. I did notice under wireless options there is an option for multicast speed. It is normally set to auto and I changed it to the max speed. See if that makes a difference

See if that makes a difference You need to save the screenshot to a file, then attach it to a forum post as a file attachment using New Attachment:Browse and Add Attachment. There is very little chance that changing multicast speed will make any difference. |

RE: GETTING STARTED
this is from the router. I will try to do the same with the switch. Should I even be using a switch for the wired components, i.e. Naim and Qnap?

Thanks, this looks like the correct page. If you can eliminate the switch as a test (this might require buying longer cables or moving some equipment), it would be worth trying this to see if it makes a difference. |

At this point, if I shut the program down when I stop listening, i.e. double click the home button and swipe the program to close, then it will mostly find Minimserver quickly when I restart. Occasionally it does not. If i let the program just go to sleep, it almost always struggles to find the server. I checked the Netgear settings on my daughters PC (it is PC only, cannot access switch from a Mac) and verified all snooping was turned off. |

When the Naim app goes to sleep, what screen do you currently have displayed? When the Naim app wakes up again, what exactly do you see on the screen? If you go to the 'UPnP servers' page in the Naim app after it has woken up, what do you see? |

RE: GETTING STARTED
It can be on the album cover page or the folder options page. When I go in again it will be on the same page. The UPNP page is blank and I have to close and restart the program for it even to start looking for the server. The little circle just sits there spinning for a minute or two and eventually finds Minimserver

The UPNP page is blank and I have to close and restart the program for it even to start looking for the server. The little circle just sits there spinning for a minute or two and eventually finds Minimserver I have tried suspending the Naim app on my iPad on an album cover page. When I resume the iPad, the app immediately sends a series of M_SEARCH discovery messages and MinimServer responds immediately. In your case, it sounds like either the M_SEARCH messages aren't being received by MinimServer or the responses aren't being received by the Naim app. The most likely explanation for this is a problem with the router. To confirm that there isn't a setting on the QNAP that is causing the problem, you can try running another instance of MinimServer on a different machine (PC or Mac) that is connected to the router by an Ethernet cable. This second instance doesn't need to have anything in its music library as you will only be using it to verify connectivity with the Naim app. If the Naim app finds the second instance of MinimServer when it resumes, the problem is with the QNAP. If the Naim app doesn't find the second instance of MinimServer when it resumes, the problem is with the router. |

RE: GETTING STARTED
So I set up Minimserver on my Mac and hard wired Ethernet to my switch. Naim app found it immediately. It seemed that as long as Mac was present it also always found it on Qnap also. Not sure what that means. Without Mac attached Qnap is finding it most of time but on occasion still comes up empty after sleeping
