MinimWatch on Windows 7 stubbornly remains grey
Hi

Sorry if this is a daft question I HAVE tried but really struggled to find an answer here -

I am running MinimServer 0.8.3 successfully on QNAP 412 (Linn Kinsky happily finds and plays tracks etc) but I would really like to configure the way that album artists etc are folders are displayed - and understand this is perfectly possible with MinimServer. Truth be known I am trying to replicate Briains tree structure from Twonky 6 days.

I know that I need to use MinimWatch in order to do this and I have MinimWatch running on my Windows 7 PC. However the icon in the system tray remains stubbonly grey. I believe it is working fine - if I set the subnet incorrectly and re-start then it turns red and gives me an error - when I set the subnet to what I believe to be correct 192.168.1.0 I get no error message, but still the icon remains grey

HELP PLEASE?? Thanks in anticipation

If the subnet 192.168.1.0 is correct, this is almost certainly a firewall issue. To confirm this, disable the Windows firewall completely on the machine running MinimWatch. This should enable MinimWatch to see MinimServer. For a permanent solution, you need to add a firewall rule to allow Java to receive inbound TCP and UDP connections from your local network.
