Minimserver not starting on QNAP reboot
I did do a search and found one thread on the issue, however no solution worked for me.

Running a QNAP TS-212P, JRE 8.6.0, Minimserver 0.8.3.

Everything works fine, but if the QNAP is rebooted, Minimserver is not visible to my UPnP client. Only solution is to, in the QNAP App Center, turn off Minimserver, then JRE, and then then turn them back on.

Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks in advance!

When this happens, does the QNAP App Center show MinimServer as running? If so, can you access the MinimServer status web page by clicking 'Open' from the App Center?

App Center shows MinimServer as running (green ON indicator), however when clicking 'Open' from the App Centre, the status web page will not open.

If I turn MinimServer Off and then back On again through App Center, it works.

Are there any messages in the system log?

I took a look at the system log and there was nothing out of the ordinary, save for notification of one album with an invalid DATE tag and another with an invalid ARTISTALBUM tag. I fixed both of these, and then turned MinimServer OFF and then ON in App Center. I then rebooted the QNAP. After reboot, the same issue - JRE and MinimServer appear to be ON in App Center, but MinimServer is not visible to my UPnP client. Here is the log file:

starting MinimServer[NAS01]
MinimServer[NAS01] is running
ending MinimServer
stopping MinimServer[NAS01]
MinimServer[NAS01] is stopped

Then, after turning MinimServer OFF and then ON in App Center, the log file:

I meant the QNAP system log, not the MinimServer log. Sorry that this wasn't clear. Have you checked the QNAP system log?

Ah - well, going to Control Panel -> System Logs -> System Event Logs, I see nothing out of the ordinary and no errors or warnings. After that last reboot I see:

[Power Management] System restarting now.
System was shut down...
System started.
[Media Library] Media Library Server started.

And that is all. Not sure if this is the log you meant?

This is the log I meant. With startup errors like this, there is sometimes a message from MinimServer in this log.

Please reboot the NAS. MinimServer will fail to start and will show its status as ON. Then do the following:
1) In App Center, change the status to OFF
2) This will create a file named minimserver-diag.tar.gz in the Public share of the NAS.
3) Copy this file to another location on your computer
4) Attach this file to a post here

This should help me to find out more about the cause of the problem.

RE: Minimserver not starting on QNAP reboot
Thanks for this. It shows that the QNAP firmware did not attempt to start MinimServer when the NAS was rebooted.

I haven't seen this before. It might be caused by some problem in the internal data used by the QNAP firmware to control package startup after a reboot. You might be able to fix this by uninstalling MinimServer and reinstalling it. Before doing this, make a note of your confguration settings so that you can reapply them after reinstalling.
