Will try your suggestion and let you know if it works. Nine times out of ten I do not use any separate control point with the Minx. I just use the remote control to scroll through the menus and lists of music on the device's display. Occasionally I use the Cambrige Audio Stream Magic controller on my iPad. Thanks, Jim. |

RE: Music won't play on Roberts radio
Can I just ask what L16 is? My overwhelming priority is WAV for the Naim. Can the flac to L16 give WAV for Naim and something for the Roberts too? I'll have to wait till tomorrow to investigate further. Thanks for the help so far!

I'll have to wait till tomorrow to investigate further. Thanks for the help so far! L16 is very similar to WAV. Both these formats contain uncompressed linear PCM audio data. L16 is limited to 16-bit samples and WAV can handle either 16-bit or 24-bit samples. If L16 transcoding works on the Roberts, you should be able to get "the best of both worlds" by setting stream.transcode to 'flac:wav/L16'. This should use WAV (16-bit or 24-bit) when you play your music on the Naim and it should use L16 (16-bit only) when you play your music on the Roberts. The first step is to verify whether L16 works on the Roberts by testing the flac:L16 setting. Is this is working, we can move on to the next stage. |

With this setting the Minx will not play at all. I can scroll through the music on the display and select a track but the music does not start. Just silence. Oh well. Jim. |
