Where do I find the download.

Streamer

I used Google. For a packaged solution, see this post on the Linn forum.

ability to stream the original audio format carried by the network stream rather than PCM;
external decoder not required;
can be used with more than one streamer at the same time;
the record function saves the decoded format.

I think this will be too much work to justify for one stream that can already be played using PCM transcoding.

You should be able to do this by setting a stream type of 'aac' for the BBC streams in their playlist entries. This will exclude these streams from '*' transcoding.

Is there a way of including the stream type in the minimstreamer-based URL you posted earlier for inclusion on sites such as vtuner? For instance, is something like this valid? I tried it on one of my renderers and it almost seemed to work - there was a longish pause before it gave up and said 'server error' (on the renderer screen).
Code:
http://192.168.1.10:9790/minimstreamer/*/R3/aac/http/a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/uk/sbr_high/ak/bbc_radio_three.m3u8

Ah, shame, as my hope was you'd already have most of the work in place. Never mind, as it was just icing on the cake and the current solution is definately workable. Well at least mentioning it means that others are now aware of Ogg FLAC streams if they weren't before.

I already have the 'aac' stream type set for the streams in the BBC playlist otherwise I can't get my Pioneer & Denon streamers to work, if you remember. Not sure why they change to the '*' transcoding when I add the '*' input type in that case. I only have that '*:wav' transcoding spec in stream.transcode, BTW.

I will look into this. Thanks for bringing it to my attention.

This might explain some of my own confusion. I had come to believe * meant 'everything else not yet specified for transcoding', rather than 'unspecified'.

The closest you can get to this is to append a $!stream suffix to the end of the URL:

Code:
http://192.168.1.10:9790/minimstreamer/*/R3/http/a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/manifesto/audio/simulcast/hls/uk/sbr_high/ak/bbc_radio_three.m3u8/$!stream.aac

Thanks, but that didn't work for me. I'm hoping for a method using an ID to a local playlist, since the local playlists do work. All in good time of course.

See http://forums.sonos.com/showpost.php?p=2...stcount=47

Your excellent solution is already out there - wasn't me guv - honest! It may now snowball given the number of Sonos users.

I don't understand what you are trying to achieve. Your earlier post referred to stream type and you are now talking (I think) about stream ID.
