cover.jpg album art question
I have a lot of albums (folders) with cover.jpg art in the folder with the audio files. The art won't display for me, what could be causing this? It works great for albums where the art is embedded.

RE: cover.jpg album art question
I suggest that you read the Album Art section of the "Your Music Library" page of the MinimServer User Guide, if you have not already done so. From this you will see that the cover.jpg file name is supported by MinimServer. There may be issues of case matching or other files in the folder that are coming higher in the search order. If this is not the case, do you know that your Control Point recognises cover.jpg? You could try renaming one of the cover.jpg files to folder.jpg, to see if that makes a difference.

Yes, I did read it and saw that the support was there for cover.jpg. I changed it to folder.jpg and that didn't work either. The Oppo BDP-105 supports .jpg, but I'm not sure if in this manner. Is there a way to move cover.jpg higher up in MinimServer's search order? |

To force the cover.jpg files to be used, you would need to remove the embedded artwork from your track files. If the embedded artwork isn't working, it might be faulty in some way or it might have too high a resolution for the control point to handle. |

There is no embedded artwork in the track files in this case. I have many album folders with just the cover.jpg (also tried folder.jpg and albumname.jpg) and can't get it to display with the Oppo. I guess the Oppo doesn't support this, but I can't ask them as they won't tech support any network stuff. |

It's probably a pain to do this for all the albums, but have you tried using a tagging program to embed your JPEG files in the tracks? MP3Tag will certainly do this, if you have a Windows machine. Also, as Simon said, there might be issues with the image size. If your jpg files are more than, say, 750 by 750 pixels, it might be worth resizing one to see if that makes a difference. In any case, I don't see this as a network issue. It is surely not out of order to ask Oppo what their software can and can't do. David |

The OPPO doesn't know whether the image came from a cover.jpg file or from embedded artwork, so embedding the image inside a track file won't solve the problem. Perhaps the image resolution is too high for the OPPO to handle. As a test, you could download any low-resolution .jpg file from the web and use this as a cover.jpg file in one of your folders. After doing this, you need to do a MinimServer rescan. |

RE: cover.jpg album art question
One of the many folders in question is Abbey Road. with cover.jpg, folder.jpg, albumname.jpg in the folder, the cover art won't display with the Oppo. I went ahead and embedded it into the flacs and it displayed. The jpg is only 52k and 487 by 480, so now it's really confusing. I would rather not have to go through and embed all artwork, but it's looking like the solution at this point. Thoughts?

Can you try using cover.jpg and browsing your library with a different control point such as Linn Kinsky? This will establish whether the problem is specific to the OPPO or is related to your library contents or setup. |

Yes, the artwork displays with Kinsky and foobar as control points, it shows on the PC and not the Oppo of course. The reason I want it to display with the Oppo is because I display the tags, track, etc on my TV when listening to music and I want the cover art to display as well. |
