I've got some questions about the demo server on BubbleUPnP
Hi everyone. I have the 64 bit installed on my Windows 7 machine, and would like to know how to make it ”app accessable” like the minumserver demo that comes with the BubbleUPnP app.
Also, why do the demo servers just not show up in the menu sometimes?
Also, I live in the US and was unable to make a PayPal contribution. Thanks!

Welcome to the MinimServer forum!

When you start MinimServer on the Windows machine, you should see a green icon with a minim symbol (musical note) in the system tray. The icon might be in the overflow section of the system tray (accessed by clicking the upward-pointing triangle).

If the green icon is showing and you aren't seeing MinimServer in BubbleUPnP, this is probably a firewall issue. Try completely disabling the Windows firewall to see whether this makes MinimServer (not the demo MinimServer) show up in BubbleUPnP.

It looks like BubbleUPnP only shows the demo MinimServer if there isn't a real MinimServer instance available. You could check this by asking on the BubbleUPnP forum.

I have had many Paypal donations from the US and I'm not sure why you weren't able to do this. What exactly happened when you tried?

RE: I've got some questions about the demo server on BubbleUPnP
OK, I need to go into more detail about what I'm trying to accomplish and what I have done so far. My knowledge in this area is exactly enough to be dangerous BTW.

1. I want to be able to stream files from the BubbleUPnP app like the demos servers do, but I want it to be 24 bit flac files. I already use BubbleUPnP to stream 24 bit flac files from cloud accounts, but that requires the app to "see" BubbleupPnP server on the local wifi network. I don't want that. I want it to work just the minimserver demo server, but I want it to be 24 bit flac, not MP3. Is this even doable?
2. Why do the demo servers seem to come and go in the BPnP app?
3. I got minimserver 64 up and running on my machine (which means BUPnP server can't be running on it) and the BPnP app sees it, but 24 bit files are just static.
4. When I tried to pay I selected USD, enetered the amount and a pop up window came up thanking me, but it never took me to PayPal for actual payment, so I don't think the payment went through.
5. Since I can stream 24 bit flac from Google Drive and other cloud storage services, it seems to me this should work. Thanks!
6. One more quick note: I can't get the x86 version to work, even with 32 bit Java. I get "Module file 'ohnet()-1.0.1109.1.zip" not found. That means I have to use the 64 bit version, which works, but them I cant run BubbleUpPnP server.

MinimServer can stream 24-bit FLAC files from a local UPnP server. If you want to stream files from an external UPnP server using an internet connection, you will need to run BubbleUPnP Server to enable this. I hope this has answered your question.

Quote:2. Why do the demo servers seem to come and go in the BPnP app?

The demo server is part of BubbleUPnP. You will need to address this question to the BubbleUPnP developer.

Quote:3. I got minimserver 64 up and running on my machine (which means BUPnP server can't be running on it) and the BPnP app sees it, but 24 bit files are just static.

By "just static", I presume you mean you are limited to the files on your local server. This is how MinimServer is designed to work.

Which browser are you using and which platform are you using to run the browser? Did you try to donate from the Downloads page or from the Donate page?

Quote:5. Since I can stream 24 bit flac from Google Drive and other cloud storage services, it seems to me this should work. Thanks!

MinimServer supports 24-bit FLAC files for local streaming.

This is a known issue. See this thread for more information.
