RE: Raspberry PI running MinimServer - YES!
Hi Simon. When are we going to have a formal version for the Pi released?

Do you mean the Pi is connected via USB to the DAC? Thanks |

No, i'm streaming from the RPI to DAC which is connected via Ethernet to my LAN network. This DAC supports UPnP streaming via the ethernet. The only connection to RPI in this case is power

RE: Raspberry PI running MinimServer - YES!
Hi all.
Just to add my 10 cents in case its of interest to others. My RPi is running minimserver successfully and it is completely stable. My flac library of c. 25k files is on a USB hard drive - the pi is connected by wired cable to the router. All my files are 16/44 so I am not able to comment on high resolution issues, if any. The Pi is running samba as well, so the library is shared via samba to sonos, and via minimserver to tablets and phones running bubbleupnp. So far the only thing I miss is search on the server side, which I hope will come some day. My open question is what to use as renderers in future. i realise this is not within the scope of MinimServer, but it is relevant to my future use. I would like to use something cheap and simple as a renderer - like another Pi - rather than have to buy more Sonos. |
