RE: Re-tagged items appearing in Recently Added

I checked the timings of the played-files entries for On the Verge (Fabulous Thunderbirds) and they exactly match the song lengths on this page. A similar check for Good News (Ronnie Earl & The Broadcasters) showed the same thing. The only thing I can think of is that I accidentally activated play Recently Added in Kazoo on my PC while my Linn was in mute mode. This does not explain why the files were played in a strange order and why the music started playing again at 21:27hr. The Linn is used for sound (toslink) on our television set which explains why it stopped at 19:14hr. |

Please try this update and let me know whether it solves the problem you have had with retagged files. Just tested with build 222 and it seems to have fixed. I re-tagged another few files and they didn't appear in Recently Added (correct). Re-scanned a couple of times to make sure and inspected added-dates.txt - they weren't added there (correct). Sorry for the delay in testing this and thanks for fixing

As it says in this section:2 albums still appear in Recently Added. Both albums were retagged 20-11-2022, the folder names were not changed. They are both not present in the edited added-date.txt. Albums were added in 2016/2017. What am I doing wrong? |

RE: Re-tagged items appearing in Recently Added
Please post your current added-dates.txt and added-files.txt files. I will look at these and advise on next steps.
Also, please confirm what MinimServer update level you are running. |

RE: Re-tagged items appearing in Recently Added
Looking at the third screenshot in post #34, I see that all the files in the On the Verge folder have Gewijzigd (altered) dates of 20-11-2022 19:24 local time. This matches what I see in added-files.txt (20-11-2022 18:24 UTC).
When filling the "recently added" list, MinimSever looks first for files in the library that it can identify as being added by a rescan. If there are not enough of these files to completely fill the "recently added" list, MinimServer places other files in this list in the order of their "last modified" dates. This is how the "recently added" list is populated the first time "recently added" is enabled. In most cases (except for retagged files), the "last modified" date will be similar to the date the file was added to the library. The simplest way to remove these albums from your "recently added" list is to change the "last modified" dates of the files in the albums to the dates the albums were added to your library. I presume this is the "last modified" date of the folder containing the files. MinimServer does not use "last modified" dates of folders in "recently added" processing, only "last modified" dates of files. |

If only one album is recently added, only this album should be shown I think. |

RE: Re-tagged items appearing in Recently Added
When the "recently added" list is first created, albums will probably have been added in the previous few days or weeks. Most users would be surprised not to see any of these albums but see an empty list instead.
MinimServer takes care to only include these additional files if they have "last modified" dates that are older than all the "added by rescan" files in the list. This ensures that no "possibly retagged" files are shown above any "added by rescan" files in the recently added index. |

Most users would be surprised not to see any of these albums but see an empty list instead. Does this mean that it is not possible to erase a "recently added" list and start again from scratch? The reason that I ask is because I have recently added replay gain settings to over 2500 (very old) files. This was achieved by a batch edit using dBpoweramp and I presume that this action is enough for minimserver to identify the files as "recently added". Either way, my current "recently added" list is full of stuff I've had for over 10 years. I'd like to start again, but every time I try to edit or delete added-files.txt, minimserver re-creates it. Given what I have done to the files, I think it is probably right that minimserver identifies them as "recently added", but in my case, I would like them to disappear. Is this possible? |
