RE: Digital booklets
I'm also one who would love to see something like this. Perhaps we can forget about eLyric, because even the vendor (PS Audio) no longer supports it.

I realize it requires some compromises to make it work, but really -- a program or booklet is an important part of enjoying music, whether in person or through streaming. At present, I open a file browser on my tablet and find the needed booklet on the NAS, but is that inconvenient!

Any way this could be revived as a feature for development? How great it is that the author of an important client (BubbleUPnP) is also interested!

RE: Digital booklets
If we wait for the UPnP protocol to be 'upped' to this we will wait till eternity. The UPnP standard has not really been advanced since 10 years or so.

Excellent! Smile

On the point of how to locate booklets for albums that span multiple directories: one idea would be to only look in the current directory and rely on the user to create symbolic links to the original file(s), which could be stored in some parent folder (or somewhere else altogether - in the case of sheet music for example, I keep it in a completely different hierarchy). This would of course only work on file systems that support sym links, so Windows users for example would need to create copies of these files instead.

Anyone who can create symlinks (I have a lot in my music files :-) is at ease with a proper directory structure. I have even created a sh file which maintains all of them.

It is not the first time we have an interesting "conflict" between Upnp and standard IT. It has been solved for the jacket, which can be both inside the music file, or as Folder.jpg or any other variation, which of course induces some "conflict" (I had a few of those).

I am very clean as my directory structure, meaning one album never spans across multiple directories. So a standard like "booklet.pdf" or any pdf would already be a first step toward mankind's happyness (starting with mine ;-). For multiple pdf, why not concatenate all pdf who are in a particular directory, using alphabetic order. And in the case of an album spanning multiple sub directories, the last directory in the tree structure with a pdf is the good one ?

Now what about control point ? I am personnaly a big fan of Lumin app to control my Linn, and the app already allows to open an internal browser (to allmusic.com, can't be changed) so could it read a pdf content ? It would mean some re-programming as well.

Oh well, one is allowed to dream...
