Audiostation provides internet radio via shoutcast which provides a list of stations on offer but no bbc. Found you list here, copy and pasted into 'my favourites' and works well. Not sure of bit rates but sound quality is pretty good. Minimserver is installed on the synology via audiostation with Kinskey on iPad. Kinskey sees diskstation and minimserver on the diskstation but doesn't play, nothing is listed in 'rooms' or 'sources'. Only audiostation works. Make any sense ? Yes, it makes sense. Synology Audio Station isn't a UPnP renderer. This is why you don't see it in rooms or sources. |

RE: BBC radio streams not working
Still no joy here with a Unitiqute2. Driving me mad!
I've installed Minimserver, MinimStreamer and Minim Watch, latest editions. I've followed the instructions on http://minimstreamer.com/bbcradio.html and set up a page, pasted the sample txt file into a file called BBC Radio and pointed Minim to it. I've added ffmpeg (though I don't think I need it now) and I've added *:L16 to the stream transcode I've restarted and rescanned Minim. The BBC Radio page shows up on Bubble OK but when I click it no stations appear; it seems to be empty ?? What have I missed? |

RE: BBC radio streams not working
I have the OS X version of Minimserver (0.8.3 update 59) and Minimstreamer (0.5.4) and I use the BBC Radio urls posted earlier in this thread. I do not have FFmpeg on the Mac and the "stream.transcode" box is blank. Other settings of Minimserver have not changed from the default except of course the contentDir box. For each BBC url, rather than having just the short code station reference in the square brackets e.g. [*R3], the correct MIME-type was stuck on the end too e.g. [*R3;aac].
Using my iPhone as UPnP renderer with the PlugPlayer app works fine, all BBC stations that I tried started to play almost immediately and without interruptions. Same story with VLC. However, when I try to do the same with two Reciva based internet radios (Avox Color and Avox TMA1), it is rare to get a successful connection the first time. More often than not the station starts buffering, and remains stuck at 100% buffering. Only after switching to another BBC stream a couple of times, there is a chance that the intended station starts to play. There does not seem to be a pattern e.g. that certain stations are always unplayable, after repeated attempts every station eventually will play. The fact that the iPhone and VLC play every station without buffering seems to indicate that there is no congestion at the station's end. Attached is a portion of a debug log showing the moment when the Avox Color is trying to play BBC Radio Scotland - without success. This is at 20:42:32.632. Hopefully somebody more knowledgeable than I can figure out what's going on. |

Everything looks fine in the log. MinimStreamer has connected successfully to the BBC stream and was sending it to the player for nearly 3 minutes before this log was created. I have seen a similar problem with Android-based devices that can't play AAC ADTS streams. You might be able to work around the problem by setting the stream.transcode property to aac:L16. |

RE: BBC radio streams not working
Thanks Simon and Pastim
I've looked at the Naim link and changed the stream converter setting to simply ffmpeg rather than c/etc etc ffmpeg. the Radio 3 folder I've set up contains the sample folder from the site and was created in Notepad and saved as a *.txt file called radio 3.m3u I don't think that's RTF I've restarted Minim and rescanned yet again but nothing shows within the folder in Bubble and in Naim it just says "no results" Any further help greatly appreciated |
