RE: Profile Settings Confusion
The convolver files were made using REW and RePhase.
As noted previously the convolver was definitely working. When first playing with this option a long while ago I proved this by making one with massive bass increase: you couldn't mistake it! I note my speaker convolver is also missing when imported: this was also working and quite an unmistakeable improveme. There's also the issue with the dsf:wav setting. This also worked previously. I did restore a Win 10 x64 backup recently (hence my previous request regarding backups and restores, which I have undertaken) and wonder if something else has changed that is affecting the MinimServer options? Reinstall perhaps? Not sure how to get the convolver wav file to you as apparently attachments of this type are not allowed and renaming as .jpg is recognised as a non-valid file type. Please advise how I can send it to you. |

RE: Profile Settings Confusion
Please zip the convolution file and attach the zipped file to a forum post. Many thanks.
The dsf:wav problem was caused by ffmpeg.exe being in the wrong folder. Is dsf:wav working for you now (without convolution)? |

RE: Profile Settings Confusion
See attached zip file:
Impulse.zip (Size: 34.16 KB / Downloads: 1)
I created another file without the conv: and still get the dsf:wav error: As an afterthought, assuming these issues have resulted from restoring the backup, that's probably why I never noticed them as they only appear when first using the profile. Something to consider for the future perhaps? |

RE: Profile Settings Confusion
My apologies for the delay. I have tried to reproduce this error message using the files you posted and I am not seeing the error on my Windows setup with ffmpeg.exe installed in the MinimServer/opt/bin directory. Please try doing the following:
1) Exit MinimServer 2) Relaunch MinimServer from the desktop icon 3) Check that the stream.transcode property is set to opt/bin/ffmpeg 4) Import the minimal.profile file that you posted (if not already imported), then select it Does step 4 complete without errors? If you still get the dsf:wav error, this means you are using an ffmpeg.exe file that does not support DSF to WAV transcoding. This could be because it is an old version (older than FFmpeg 2.3) or because it was built without dsf support. |

RE: Profile Settings Confusion
The correct version of ffmpeg is (28.02.2022) being used as I remember having to update when you assisted with the dsf settings.
I have also updated with the latest version 26.06.2023 and still get the same issues after uninstalling the profile, exiting and restarting. If we ignore the new convolver form my headphones, there is still the issue of my speaker impulse, which worked previously. The only option I now have is to re-install and see if the problem resolves itself. FYI: |

RE: Profile Settings Confusion
Not working after a reinstall, which is NOT a new install!
Profiles are used which have not been set, so where have these come from? Please confirm that MinimServer 2.2 does not create an 'opt/bin' folder for ffmpeg, and a manual install is still required for this to work. Note: the folder structure now has two bin folders! Surely, all bin references should be made through the one folder!? The file ohnet(windows)-1.33.4785.zip remains zipped after install. What purpose does having a zipped file serve? |

RE: Profile Settings Confusion
The error messages you have posted indicate that ffmpeg.exe has not been installed in the correct opt/bin folder.
On Windows, the opt/bin folder is created when MinimStreamer (not MinimServer) is installed and started. On Windows, the full path of this folder is C:\Users\your-user-name\AppData\Roaming\MinimServer\opt\bin where your-user-name is the user name of the account that was used to install MinimServer. To resolve the error messages you are seeing, you need to locate this folder and copy ffmpeg.exe into it, then stop and restart MinimServer. After doing this, open the MinimServer configuration web page, select the MinimStreamer > Properties tab and check that the stream.transcode property has been set to opt/bin/ffmpeg. It is important that you confirm this property setting before you select any profiles that require ffmpeg to be installed. Regarding your question about two 'bin' folders, the folder C:\Program Files\MinimServer\bin contains executable files that are part of MinimServer. You should not add other executables to this folder. The opt/bin folder (see above) is used for additional executables that the user can install for use by MinimServer or MinimStreamer. At present, the only such executable is ffmpeg.exe. The file ohnet(windows)-1.33.4785.zip is an internal component of MinimServer. It is packaged as a zip file and MinimServer extracts files from within it as needed. You should not unzip this file. |

RE: Profile Settings Confusion
I have got it all working now, thanks.
The confusion came from the instruction to remove the full path of the ffmpeg file. As I chose to use the opt/bin folder in the MinimServer install location the full path is required. As MinimStreamer was automatically reinstalled I could check the stream.converter function using the configure tab. Once the full path with left slashes was restored then the profiles didn't report errors when reimporting. I checked my backup files and all looked good, so not sure why it didn't work after the restore. Thanks again. |

RE: Profile Settings Confusion
Hi
Thought it best to raise this here as I think it is linked. Having now gotten working profiles I now find that DSF files no longer play. Any ideas as to a solution? |
