RE: Announcing MinimServer 2 for QNAP
I've just successfully installed Minimserver 2 SE on a QNAP 219P+ running QTS 4.3.3.1252. I was used to listening to radio stations by using their URL held in a .m3u file in Playlists. My Control Point now shows these files as empty. Am I correct in assuming that I would need to upgrade to the Trial version or a paid license in order to rectify this?

Are there any messages in the MinimServer log relating to these playlists?

MinimStreamer is not functional in the Starter Edition. See this page.

Why not treat yourself to a license for MinimServer 2? It won't break the bank.

All sorted. Trial license selected, Minimstreamer 2 installed, problem solved.

cheers, this lockdown has really slowed me down... I had read the bit about SE not supporting minimstreamer earlier today and it still got me!

That's the important bit. As you will see from my posts, I tripped up on a couple of things as well. But considering that the QNAP ecosystem is such a software and firmware rats' nest, and that no-one could possibly run software tests on every QNAP NAS ever made, it is surprising how straightforward the installation of MinimServer 2 on QNAP seems to be.

Tried installing V2 this morning. It appeared to go OK however could not see it in MinimWatch and could not access it through the browser. I have currently reverted to 0.8 and all is OK. I did that in part to see if I'd changed some access setting on the QNAP which would make it undiscoverable.

I was installing it on a QNAP 559 Pro II running 4.2.6.

Thanks for letting me know about this. My HS-251+ has a later version of QTS and this is why I did not find this incompatibility during testing. The log gives me all the information that I need to investigate and hopefully fix the problem.

Thank you once again for your excellent support. The test build worked perfectly so owners of older QNAP NAS which cannot run the latest version of the QTS operating system can now install MinimServer 2.

I gather the "new" build will be available shortly as production.

RE: Announcing MinimServer 2 for QNAP
Up and running on HS-210 / 4.3.3.1252!

Only point of feedback not really captured in the installation instructions was the long period of time that MS 0.8 took to stop after the installation took place and for the 2.x install to go active. Took several minutes, during which I wasn't sure the installation was successful. MW indicates "Stopping" the whole time, so just required a bit of patience. This is likely exasperated due to the 210 using a slow, low power Marvel ARM.
