There are three ways to do this: 1) If you have .autoUpdate enabled (the default), relaunching MinimServer (not Restart or Rescan) automatically updates all installed packages to the latest versions 2) If you are running MinimWatch, you will get a prompt asking you if you want to update the MinimStreamer package 3) You can check for and install updates by selecting About from the minim icon and clicking 'Show updates' in the About dialog |

RE: BBC radio streams not working
I'm having a similar problem to redhanded, with minimserver installed on a ReadyNAS DuoV2 and trying to play to my Sonos system. All the minim parts appear to be installed correctly and running, but I also get an error from my Sonos controller, station not found.
As an example, my custom radio station URL in Sonos is: http://192.168.1.11:9790/minimstreamer/*/R3 and the error log says: MinimServer[NAS_A] is running HTTPSource: unknown host for URL http://a.files.bbci.co.uk/media/live/man...three.m3u8 This is repeated several times before presumably giving up. PS. I am using your sample BBC Radio.m3u file that is linked from your Internet radio how-to guide. Any suggestions as to what I might have done wrong? |

This will exclude these streams from '*' transcoding.I already have the 'aac' stream type set for the streams in the BBC playlist otherwise I can't get my Pioneer & Denon streamers to work, if you remember. Not sure why they change to the '*' transcoding when I add the '*' input type in that case. I only have that '*:wav' transcoding spec in stream.transcode, BTW. |

RE: BBC radio streams not working
I have tried the new format URL. Both my players use the vtuner website for radio sources.
On my Marantz M-CR603 player it gave garbled sound until I added /$!stream.aac after .....R3 . I had no transcode for an unspecified type, but did, from previous tests, have aac:wav. So that works, and is an option you may want to mention on minimradio. On my Musical Fidelity M1 CLiC I used to get 'server error' with the long URL, but now get 'file format error'. I tried with and without /$!stream.aac . This player does work with the UPnP playlist item R3, but I guess that's a different bit of protocol handling in the player. Any thoughts? I assume it doesn't matter that my m3u file is called BBC_Radio.m3u (I'm allergic to spaces)? I shall mention minimradio on the BBC website. Thanks a lot. |

The "unknown host" error means that your NAS can't contact the BBC server. Do you have a firewall on your NAS or router that is blocking this connection? One other possibility: are you located in the UK? This stream is for UK users only. |

(19-02-2015 23:26)simoncn Wrote:Thanks for the speedy reply Simon. Yes, I'm in the UK. I don't believe my router is blocking the connection as I can stream from the same URL via VLC player on my PC. As for whether the ReadyNAS has a firewall, I don't know, and will have to investigate. I can't recall seeing any settings for one in the Dashboard.(19-02-2015 22:24)withanee Wrote: I'm having a similar problem to redhanded, with minimserver installed on a ReadyNAS DuoV2 and trying to play to my Sonos system.
