It is one of the tests I did. I saw both M-SEARCH packets sent from 192.168.2.6 address, and announce (NOTIFY) packets sent by the remote Minimserver, 192.168.2.1. But somehow the two pieces of software didn't hear of each other.
My sensation is that it has more to do with OpenVPN than with minimserver/minimwatch, but of course I cannot be sure.
