Linn provides a basic UPNP AV mode, which I would guess does not support gapless play or cache the playlist. Kinsky can control the players in this mode, so maybe it can also control JRiver. It is free, so the only cost of trying it is time and effort.

I have neve been able to get Kinsky to play more than one track at a time when using a UPnP AV renderer. This effectively makes Kinsky unusable unless you have an OpnHome renderer. It's likely that this limitation would apply when playing to JRiver, but it might be worth a try.

Have you tried installing BubbleUPnP Server ? With this software layer installed on your music server, you can wrap an OpenHome renderer around a UPnP renderer to make it support OpenHome extensions. I have used it with the Lumin app to play to a Moon Mind renderer, which does no support OpenHome extensions natively. For me it worked very well. I have used it with the Kinsky app also.

As DavidHB wrote, without recourse to BubbleUPnP Server, I was never able to play more that a single track at a time on a non OpenHome renderer. This limitation is now gone. I must say however that I still prefer using BubbleUPnP app on Android whenever possible.

Hope this can help.
