It doesn't but it really should. There's a manual reload action in the menu.

I understand your point, but if you know what you want to play you prefer to browse a huge folder hierarchy instead, with loading times involved, scrolling etc ? Not me.
And past search queries are cached (not the query result, but the search term) so they are 1 click away.
