RE: Restriction of BBC Radio HLS/DASH to authorised third parties
I'm new to using MinimServer. It works great at playing my music files stored on my PC on my Cyrus CX2 streamer, controlled with Cyrus' Cadence app.
I'm now trying to set it up to stream BBC Radio channels. The Cyrus streamer used to be able to stream BBC Radio stations but lost this when the BBC changed it technology a couple of years (?) back. Cyrus decided against upgrading its kit to resume streaming of BBC channels I've down-loaded the playists from GitHub via the link in Marmite Sandwich's post (#125). I can get the HLS m3U file to play on windows media player, on my Windows 11 PC, [Although every station is displayed with the same name -BBC RAdio] However, I can't get it to play on the Cyrus streamer via its Cadence app. Cadence recognises the downloaded file as aM3U playlist, but when I open it all the station addresses are greyed out and can't be selected. Is it possible for me to stream with a MinimServer/ MinimStreamer/Cyrus set up not? If it is, what do I need that I haven't got or what changes do I need to make to my-set up? NB. I'm a bear of little technological brain so could suggestions be couched in simple terms. Thanks |
