I am pleased to hear this is working for you now.

I am not familiar with the "Classic hits" stream, so I can't help with the URL for this. I can't provide URLs for BBC streams because the BBC stopped providing officially supported URLs some time ago and now wants everyone to use BBC Sounds.

There are sites that list unofficial BBC URLs, so you can search the web to try to find something that works. You might need to update the URL from time to time as these unofficial URLs can change.

There is no issue with using LF vs CR/LF in m3u files (see post #24).
