Thanks very much for this. It makes sense that this could be a Java problem. I am using Java 21 for all my testing on Mac.

You should be able to find out what version of Java you were previously using by running this command from a Terminal window:

/usr/libexec/java_home -V

This should list all installed versions of Java with the version currently in use shown first. If you didn't uninstall your previous version of Java, it will appear in this list.

This information will be very useful for other users with the same problem.
