On Android it's nothing to do with how often you add music; every time you open the app it retrieves the complete album index and then loops through each album to get the track metadata!
This may not be a big deal on the LAN, but if you're able to access it remotely like you are with BubbleUPnP then it could be a much bigger problem.

If you view the log from MinimWatch and switch it to Trace you'll see everything it does (or at least a rolling window of it).

Apart from that I think it enables all of MinimServer's functionality, apart from maybe for Booklets, but not many people use that.

I just tried that opening Lumin on my Samsung Galaxy S8 tablet whilst watching the trace log on a PC.

I get a few errors for some index values but that's it. It doesn't scan the library again. I only get a scan if I add new content.
