It is usually better to play DSF files without transcoding if your renderer (the Cambridge Audio Azur 851N) can handle this. This should provide better sound quality than transcoding DSF to WAV.
The setting in your profile for transcoding DSF to WAV produces a 32-bit 352.4 kHz WAV stream. The Azur 851N (according to its specs) is limited to 24-bit 192 kHz, so you would need to change dsf:wav to dsf:wav24;192 to produce a 24-bit 192 kHz WAV stream that can play on the Azur 851N. Although this is technically possible, it is not recommended because sound quality will be inferior to playing the DSF file on the Azur 851N without transcoding. |
