In addition to the issues mentioned here and in the referenced thread, there are technical issues with the present design of MinimServer that would require significant redesign to make this possible. For these reasons, my first priority for rescanning improvements is to make a manual rescan quicker in the common case where a small number of new files have been added with no other changes. Even this is not simple to implement and I can't give any estimated timescale for when it might be available.

Quicker rescan? This is heaven comapred to my old squeezebox setup. 10.000 song are scanned in 10-20 seconds, altough I have an old qnap nas +10yrs
