Uniti Atom stops when playing album from NAS

Thanks for your advice David, sorry to not have responded sooner but I have had family visitors and not been able to explore any further until now. I tested not allowing the iPad to sleep but it made no difference so I started thinking about what you said about gapless playback and possible network issues.

My setup is EE router and Synology NAS upstairs in an office with cable from router to the listening room with a TP Link range extender to boost the WiFi using the same settings as the router. The Uniti Atom came with very sparse instructions, obviously intended to be simple to setup, I didn't find it so. I plugged the Ethernet cable into the Atom and entered Wifi settings.

In Summary:
From the Naim app using minimserver the Atom sounded great but quite often stopped playing after a few tracks, if left alone it would sometimes start playing again after maybe 5 or 10 mins.
Using the Synology server on the Naim app the Atom it didn't stop play but I felt that the sound quality was not as good and there seemed to be a slight gap/hesitation at the end of each track and a visible reloading of the artwork on the app.

I decided to do a factory reset and leave out the cable connection and just use WiFi. Minimserver worked perfectly, gapless smooth transitions between tracks, very important to me because I have a lot of opera albums. There was no more stopping after a few tracks. Airplay doesn't work but that isn't a big issue for me.

Next steps, I'm not sure but I would quite like to be able to use the Ethernet connection. Unfortunately, dealing with networking is not a strong point for me.
