I have a problem with the display of the file numbers on my control point and am starting here.
I have two opera CDs which comprise a complete work and have been ripped to flac.

In your first post you say that you've ripped to flac but that you're using ID3v2.4 tags, is that correct? I believe that is possible, but I've never seen it used before.

Are you browsing by folder or by tag, and when you've browsed to the album (before you send it to the playlist) are the tracks displaying in the correct order?

To be honest I'm not sure who is responsible for the sort order of the generated playlist, so what might be useful is to firstly rule out any tagging inconsistencies, as such could you produce a list of them? To do that run the following from a terminal after you've changed to the directory containing the album.
Code:
rm -f minim_tags.txt
for f in *.flac; do
        echo '##' $f >> minim_tags.txt
        metaflac --export-tags-to=tags.tmp "$f"
        cat tags.tmp >> minim_tags.txt
        rm tags.tmp
done
NOTE This will only work if you have the flac packages installed, so if they're not available you'll need to install them. For ubuntu this would be:
Code:
sudo apt install flac
but it will vary according to your distribution.

It would also be useful if you could run the following:
Code:
file *.flac >> minim_tags.txt
This will give us some basic information about the files.

Once complete, zip the minim_tags.txt and attach it to a post (and delete it from your system afterwards).
