I have a new Synology NAS DS220+ running MinimServer and have no problems accessing it via my LAN and playing audio using my Android phone with MediaMonkey.
However I would also like to access it remotely - ie from outside my LAN when I'm away from home. To do so, I apparently need to create a new UPnP server connection in MediaMonkey. The documentation I've found says I need to specify it in the format: http(s)://host:port/DeviceDescription.xml Other documentation says I can also add userid&pswd via http(s)://userid:password@host:port/DeviceDescription.xml However I can’t find a DeviceDescription.xml file anywhere in my MinimServer folder, and can’t find any examples of what that file should look like or how to create it. And can I include userid/password as above, or do I need to authenticate during my first connection? Can anyone help? Thanks, David |
