I can confirm that you are not the only person to have had exactly this problem.
As far as I understand things this could happen to any "NAS".
Having a fixed address does design this problem out. I have also been assured by folk more knowledgeable than myself, that having fixed addresses, both in your Router settings and on individual pieces of equipment, e.g. switch, (where possible), does in theory reduce some digital traffic and possibly noise in the system.

Still, it is always fun spending an evening making up new playlists.
