RE: Synology DSM Upgrade 7.0.1 Compatibility with JAVA Upgrade
Following the instructions provided I was able to successfully upgrade to DSM 7 on my Synology DS1019 (Intel Processor). The third step in the instruction requires that the license for the DS1019 be deactivated. It took me quite awhile to figure out how to do this. It might be useful to add something about this in the instructions.
I had one major issue, which was self inflicted. After updating to DSM 7, I was presented with an unfamiliar screen and was being prompted to log in. I thought it was for my Synology account and started using the username and password for that. I got locked out pretty quickly. Turns out, the screen was the “new look” for the operating system and I was being prompted to log into my NAS. After waiting awhile, I still could not get loged in. I had to call Synology and they walked me through the process doing a factory reset so I could log back in to the “admin” account and reset my username and password. I then had to provide the new password to several PCs in the house that access the NAS. |
