Starter Edition intentionally has very limited configurability. For the properties that are not configurable, Starter Edition uses default settings that have been the same in MinimServer for many years. Changing these defaults is not an option because of the disruption this would cause for existing users. Making more properties configurable in Starter Edition would reduce the value-add that users who purchase the full license are getting for their purchase.

The problem you have found with ">> Tag View" lines is likely to be caused by your control point not handling escaped '>' characters corrrectly in XML. If this problem can be fixed, you should be able to use Starter Edition to play music from folder view.
