Update Notices

Dear Simon,

If there were an impossibly long queue of people waiting eagerly to offer you their hearty thanks for developing the Minim suite of software, I'd be at the front of it, make no mistake. But, at the risk of having a gripe, I feel assailed by messages prompting me to update my Minim software. These notices bombard me each day that passes if I don't update. (This is compounded by the fact that updates appear to be released ever more frequently.)

I understand this practice is widespread among the tech firms, but I've always considered it ungentlemanly.

Questions:

(1) Is there a way to suppress these pestering notices until such time that I am ready to update?
(2) If not, please could you introduce it.
