Thanks for confirming. It sounds like you were able previously to see the MinimServer icon on your desktop. I am not sure what has changed now.

Please try running

ps -ef | grep mserver

This will show which MinimServer processes are running.

Also, are you running a recent version of GNOME Shell? This requires the TopIcons Plus add-on to show the MinimServer icon.
