RE: FLAC Files with the "≫" Character in File Name Won't Play
Hi again, Simon. One other potentially relevant datapoint occurred to me after reading your post #49:
Back on December 10, 2020, I powered up the Melco and was startled to see an error message stating, "Usable internal drive not found. (Error 111)" The Melco gave me the option to "Try repair of disk. (Continue? (It may not be able to be repaired.)" I accepted the "repair" option. A message appeared on the Melco screen stating: "Try repair of unrecognised drive Please wait..." Next, a message appeared on the Melco screen after a while stating, "Finished." At that point, I tried playing some random music files in the "share" folder and everything seemed fine. I have not had any scares like this since December 10th. Do you think this "repair" may be related to the missing music files with the "≫" character in the file name? Thanks. Melco HA-N1ZH60 Mk1 (MinimServer 2.2) → USB → Luxman D-07X Black Edition Centennial SACD Player/DAC → XLR → Mark Levinson No. 523 → RCA → JL Audio E-Sub e110 (active crossover @ 100 Hz) → RCA → Bryston 4B3 (Cubed) → Magnepan .7 |
