FLAC Files with the "≫" Character in File Name Won't Play

UPDATE: I went back to the original external hard drive where my "Get Shown the Light" CD rips are stored. I copied the folder containing CD11 via USB to my MacBook Pro desktop. I renamed the folder and then dragged it to my Melco "share" folder so that the folder and files would transfer via WiFi. Next, I used MinimWatch on my MacBook Pro to rescan the Melco share folder. The results are very interesting. Using Linn Kazoo for MacOS, I can see all seven FLAC files in the newly added test folder (see attached screen shot). However, the original 2017 file transfer of this folder still shows only the two FLAC files without the "≫" character in the file names (see attached screen shot).

I deduce from this that the original 2017 'drag and drop' was done from a Windows PC and that the "≫" characters were altered in a manner that does not happen when the 'drag and drop' is done from a Mac.

This seems crazy to me, and I find it highly unlikely that the five FLAC files with "≫" in their file names have been invisible and inaccessible since 2017.

The question remains as to whether I should run the Melco GUI option to "Start checking all filenames and replace PC-incompatible characters for SMB file sharing."

Any insights would be greatly appreciated, thanks.
