RE: Setting up minimserver on synology DS412+

The first time starting process can take a while, depending on the number of music files you have in your content directory. MinimServer will not be visible to a control point (Kinsky) until it has indexed all your music files. However, under certain circumstances (i.e. a wrong or empty setting for the contentDir property) the MinimServer startup process can hang with the current version of the Synology package. Please try the following: 1) Uninstall MinimServer using the Synology package center and choose not to backup the config-file. 2) Reinstall MinimServer and leave the textfield for the content directory empty during the installation process. The installation process should now automatically choose '/volume1/Music' for the content directory and MinimServer should be visible in Kinsky after MinimServer has indexed all your music files. The problem with the startup-hang will be fixed in a future version of MinimServer. |
