You can prevent the filename being substituted for an empty title by doing the following:

1) In itemTags, add TitleValue
2) In aliasTags, add Title:TitleValue
3) Change Title.displayFormat={$composition$title^^^, } to Title.displayFormat={$composition$titlevalue^^^, }
