Had the same symptoms after my recent QNAP firmware update, HS-210 in my case. On the boot logs I noticed the JRE wasn't launching properly. I uninstalled the JRE, Minimserver, then reinstalled Minimserver, which first reinstalls the JRE. After that, all set.
