Success, somehow. Tried adding multicast to lo interface without success, then did a coldboot, added multicast again to the lo interface, clicked on desktop minimserver icon and watched it run properly and add the taskbar icon and now all is good.
I have a tray icon and can see the server from several different CPs. Not sure what did it, but I'm happy now. Sent a donation too. Thanks for the help, the program. Makes life easier since most of my music is classical, not other.
