Cannot open minimserver

I've been successfully using minimserver for a while now. However, I cannot now open the application. It shows a red icon with the message: "no valid content found. Java TM Platform SE Binary". I have recently updated Java to 8 Update 201, so don't know if this is influencing matters? In addition I think there has been a major Windows update, so again not sure if this is an issue?
A simple explanation/solution would be helpful as my computer programming literacy is limited!!
