Yes, this does help. When you installed MinimServer and ran setup, what user was logged in? It looks this this user might not have permission to access the X11 display.

Also, how did you start MinimServer? Was it by double-clicking the MinimServer launch icon on your desktop or have you configured MinimServer to start automatically?
