All 14 music files incl the 24bit wavs play without problem from:
- VLC directly on the Mac itself
- VLC directly on Dell Latitude
- Synology NAS / MinimServer on Cambridge Audio 851N renderer and DAC
- VLC / Macintosh on the USB Stratos DAC

imo neither pointing to the files nor to the DAC
