But in my desktop Mac, MinimWatch shows that it is running. If I click "Start" in the Package Center, a second MinimWatch icon appears in my Mac menu bar in red, indicating that two processes cannot be run on the same configuration. Is there some reason why MinimServer shows as "Stopped" in the Package Center, but actually appears to be running (and serving up music wonderfully)?

Did you use JavaManager to install and start Java? If so, see this post for a temporary workaround. A permanent solution will be available in the near future.

Thanks much. Will check it out. UPDATE: Have checked that out. Interesting. I followed the instructions for the patters package, but I probably missed the fact that I was "overlapping" with the already available Oracle Java Manager for the Synology. In fact, I did not notice that Java Manager was even available until after I had installed the complete patters package and MinimServer. I will likely leave this alone until it is addressed in a future package, because it is all running fine now, and I am only using this in a test mode with my PSA PWD and inbound Lumin player. I am also playing around with the Mac OS X version of JRMC, but I expect MinimServer to be my preferred service going forward.
