The default setting is Artist.displayFormat={$artist$orchestra$conductor}. Whether or not this is right for you depends on the tagging scheme you decide to use.

I would tag AlbumArtist for an album that has many different artists. I would make the AlbumArtist the main artist(s) for the album. If all tracks have the same artist, I would not tag AlbumArtist. Again, this might not be right for you as it depends on your tagging scheme and how you like to browse your library.
