RE: Melco Audiophile NAS
Having copied all the music files onto a hard drive attached to my iMac, I'm now able to search the files, and discovered the missing ones nestled in the wrong files.
The Melco's the first such device I've used, prior to that I've been using iTunes on a Mac. Having populated the Melco with all my old music files (well, the ones I anticipate listening to again!) I discover that some can't be seen, and only appear in folder view, or sometimes only in artist view. There are also a few that only pop up in he Melco's own PnP library and not in the Minimserve. Now this is obviously something to do with tagging, something I've never bothered much with under iTunes. So the files are of various types - MP3s (very few), ALACs (a few more), AIFFs (probably the majority), and WAV, which I currently use for ripping via dBPoweramp. It seems to me I need to somehow re-tag the errant ones, so I was wondering how best to do this? I've downloaded a program called Jaikos, after seeing this mentioned in another thread. Presumably I can just drag files into this, and resave when properly tagged? Will this do the trick do you think? All help and advice gratefully received! |
