Simon,
Heaving read all the posts regarding pdf booklets in this (and in BubbleUPnP) forum, I gathered that this topic will stay dormant for the near future. So, to my surprise, I stumbled upon an interesting discovery. I use Minim with my Synology NAS and BubbleUPnP to stream music from Tidal and Qobuz. Couple of nights ago, I was listening to an album via Qobuz and when I clicked on the album cover for “more info”, I noticed the following: As you can see, there is a way to click on the “digital booklet” link. This opens a web page with a link to the booklet in pdf format. It appears that BubbleUPnP will show data from the “description” tag. This led me thinking about the following… 1. Minim indexes any booklet.pdf files. 2. Minim exposes the file via a url - example (http://192.168.1.10/music/jazz/miles davis – kind of blue/booklet.pdf) 3. Minim will add to its DB a “description” tag along with the corresponding url for each album – This should not be saved to the actual audio file, just to the Minim DB. 4. Minim will skip the above in case a booklet.pdf is missing 5. In case that the “description tag” is already available, Minim can append the booklet.pdf link (see screenshot) This is just a thought but it requires no effort from the BubbleUPnP people and does not contaminates the files with permanent URLs. Since Minim has great flexibility in manipulation tags, I believe adding the “description” tag will not break anything for current users. Your thoughts? P.S. I have attached the original screenshot. |
