It sounds like iTunes is either ignoring or recovering from the incorrect format in these three files.

There was a change in MinimServer update 81 to replace some error messages for incorrect format problems with warning messages. Which update level are you running?

If you are running update 81 or later, would you be able to make the smallest file (length 9878920) available for testing?
