Unable to scan music library in new installation
I have just installed a MinimServer on an iMac (21.5 inch, Mid 2011, processor 2.5 GHz Intel Core i5, Memory 4 GB 1333 MHz DDR3, disk is 500 Gig HD) The music files are the contents of the iTunes Media folder copied to /Users/<my name>/ripped. I was unable to get MinimServer to read them in situ so I copied the files to the ripped folder. When I started the scan I got the following:
restarting MinimServer[Johns-iMac.gateway] Language setting is 'eng' Current time is Sat Jun 11 15:56:31 ACST 2016 in time zone Australia/Adelaide starting MinimServer[Johns-iMac.gateway] Error: unexpected end of file at offset 38817 in file Compilations/The Narada Collection/11 Shadow Dancer.m4a (length 4096) Error: unexpected end of file at offset 0 in file Downloads/Podcasts/The Large Hadron Collider Goes to Work _ Science Talk_ The Podcast of Scientific American.tmp/download.mp3 (length 0) Error: unexpected end of file at offset 9878920 in file Jack Davis/Unknown Album/AoM custom song.aif (length 9878920) Error: unexpected end of file at offset 38014720 in file Jack Davis/Unknown Album/JamesPiano.aif (length 38014720) Error: unexpected end of file at offset 24696520 in file Jack Davis/Unknown Album/Rogue Theme (by James).aif (length 24696520) Warning: truncating incorrect value for DATE tag 2016-00-00 in file Podcasts/The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe/The Skeptics Guide #567 - May 21 2016.mp3 Warning: truncating incorrect value for DATE tag 2016-00-00 in file Podcasts/The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe/The Skeptics Guide #568 - May 28 2016.mp3 Warning: truncating incorrect value for DATE tag 2016-00-00 in file Podcasts/The Skeptics' Guide to the Universe/The Skeptics Guide #569 - Jun 4 2016.mp3 MinimServer[Johns-iMac.gateway] is running I know that the files are correctly formatted because I can play them all using iTunes. The problem appears to be repeated spurious messages saying "Unexpected end of file". I assume that either I have mis-configured the server or that there is a bug when reading iTunes ripped files. Can someone point me at the appropriate resource to get the issue resolved? Regards, Jack |
